Every November, Paris Photo fills the Grand Palais nave with several hundred photography galleries from around the world. The Champs-Élysées district becomes one of the busiest areas in Paris: car parks full from opening time, taxis in short supply, and private cars stranded for lack of spaces.

The 29th edition is open to the public from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November 2026. The vernissage falls on Wednesday 11 November — Armistice Day, a public holiday in France. The morning ceremonies on the Champs-Élysées add a specific access constraint to this invitation-only day.

This guide draws on information published on parisphoto.com, verified on 21 October 2026, and sets out the most practical transport options for reaching the Grand Palais from a Paris hotel or an airport.

Paris Photo 2026: dates, opening hours and venue

The 29th edition of Paris Photo is held at the Grand Palais, avenue du Général Eisenhower, 75008 Paris. Opening hours published on parisphoto.com as at 21 October 2026:

  • Thursday 12, Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November: 1pm to 8pm
  • Sunday 15 November: 1pm to 7pm
  • Invitation-only vernissage, Wednesday 11 November: Collectors Circle from 11am to 9pm, VIP from 2pm to 9pm

Getting to the Grand Palais by public transport

According to the practical information published by Paris Photo, the Champs-Élysées area is served by several lines. Métro lines 1 and 13, station Champs-Élysées-Clemenceau, are closest to the main entrance. Métro line 9, station Franklin D. Roosevelt, also serves the area.

RER C, station Invalides, connects the Grand Palais to the Left Bank and to Gare d'Austerlitz. Buses 72, 93, 42, 73 and 28 stop near avenue Winston-Churchill.

Parking near the Grand Palais: plan ahead

The Grand Palais has no dedicated car park for fair visitors. The area between the Champs-Élysées and the Seine is dense: the nearest covered car parks are on rue de Ponthieu and rue François Ier, and can be full from opening time on busy days.

Collectors arriving by car need to factor in time to find a space. An hourly chauffeur hire solves the question differently: drop-off directly in front of the entrance on avenue Winston-Churchill, then the driver leaves. No parking, no fines.

The hourly hire option suits multiple visits across several days: the chauffeur stays on call and picks the client up at the chosen time, before or after closing.

11 November vernissage: allow for morning restrictions

Wednesday 11 November is Armistice Day, a public holiday in France. Every year, the official commemorations take place on the Champs-Élysées, a few hundred metres from the Grand Palais. The Paris police prefecture may impose traffic restrictions in this area during the morning.

For guests invited to the Collectors Circle, who access Paris Photo from 11am, it is advisable to arrive before 10am or after 12.30pm, once the commemorations have ended. Métro and RER lines operate on 11 November on a public-holiday timetable.

A chauffeur who knows Paris well can suggest an alternative route on the morning of 11 November, skirting the Champs-Élysées via Pont de l'Alma or Pont de la Concorde if the area is closed off.

Getting to Paris Photo from CDG, Orly or a European station

A large share of the gallerists and collectors at Paris Photo arrive from abroad. From CDG or Orly, an hourly chauffeur hire takes guests directly to the Grand Palais with no transfers, no luggage on the Métro, and a drop-off as close as possible to the entrance. Booking is available from any country, in advance.

From Gare du Nord (Eurostar) or Gare de l'Est, the Grand Palais is a straightforward drive. Online booking on blackmile.fr confirms the price before departure.

Blackmile has operated in Paris since 1997. The price is fixed at the time of booking: no peak-hour surcharge, no dynamic pricing.
